WHY I'M RUNNING
My experience in the Bexar County's Sheriff's Department and the experiences of friends and colleagues, including my dearest husband, has shown me the need for change. I have seen firsthand how the lack of morale, leadership, equality, fairness and efficiency can negatively affect our officers, businesses, communities, and families.
Our Bexar County Sheriff's Office is in need of change and reform. Over the last few years, we have seen what happens when our force is not fully and adequately staffed, properly equipped with working technology and up to date equipment and uniforms, and lack a knowledgeable and caring leader.
WHAT I WILL DO
We need improved leadership. There needs to be an improved and more transparent vetting process for leadership positions within the Department and the Jail and I stand committed to bringing this change. It is important to make sure we use an employee's strengths, experience, and talents and place them in positions that will yield success for them, the Department, and the community. We need to improve the working conditions for our deputies and staff and I will step up and take care of business. We need to reinforce a sense of pride and professionalism within the Department and I intend to lead by example and restore faith in the office of the Sheriff.
I will work everyday to increase the number of Deputies in the community, improve response times, and expand neighborhood watch programs and participation.
The citizens of Bexar County are not receiving the support they deserve from their leader in the Sheriff's Department. The communities in Bexar County have lost trust; I will re-establish that trust.
BEXAR COUNTY NEEDS CHANGE EVERYONE CAN COUNT ON
